SimonDR, a Bel Air, Maryland based corporation, announced today the completion of advanced integration of their veterinary digital x-ray detectors with Quantum Medical Imaging’s X-Ray generators. Integration to an x-ray generator allows SimonDR’s WhiteCap software to control both the digital x-ray detector and the x-ray generator without operator input.

The first integration was done in the field by Jason M. Simon, President of SimonDR, and Brian Scarpati, Senior X-Ray Engineer for Quantum Medical Imaging, LLC, and Michael Aliberti, Senior X-Ray Engineer for New York Imaging Services, the New York-based service and install dealer. The senior company representatives were on-hand for the integration at the Valley Cottage Animal Hospital in Valley Cottage, New York. The installation of this integrated system is the culmination of hundreds of man-hours over many months by the organizations.

“X-ray integration means to the Valley Cottage Animal Hospital that we are able to offer the best possible care to our patients and streamline our internal processes at the same time. The Licensed Veterinary Technicians love it because this process allows less room for human error as well as reduced time for their patients on the x-ray table. The doctors love it because the image clarity is impeccable and the ability to examine the image in so many different variations makes x-ray interpretation more black and white (pardon the pun),” said Patricia J. Collins, DVM, veterinarian and partner at the Valley Cottage Animal Hospital.

“The Valley Cottage Animal Hospital is a very busy and well respected 24 hour emergency animal hospital in a beautiful suburb near New York City. Having our digital x-ray system there is, quite frankly, an honor. Quantum Medical Imaging pulled out all of the stops by sending their senior engineer, Brian Scarpati to do this in-field work. Brian is a part of a brilliant engineering team, who made quick work of a very complicated thing,” commented Jason Simon, President of SimonDR.

The Valley Cottage Animal Hospital is now totally integrated with both Impromed’s Infinity practice management system and the SimonDR digital detector with Quantum Medical Imaging’s x-ray system.

“The Valley Cottage Animal Hospital radiology system is now maximally integrated between Impromed’s Infinity practice management software, Simon DR’s digital detector and image acquisition software, and Quantum Medical Imaging’s x-ray system. When x-rays are taken in the radiology suite, they are immediately available on every computer in the hospital; including the exam room’s viewing monitors where the doctors can discuss the findings with the clients. The images are also instantly inserted into the patient’s computerized medical record. Achieving maximal radiological integration allows us to streamline the radiographic process resulting in faster image acquisition and analysis, shorter client wait times, faster patient diagnosis
time, and better medical clarity. It doesn’t get much better,” added Andreas Pahl, MBA, Hospital Administrator for The Valley Cottage Animal Hospital.
