The Valley Cottage Animal Hospital is pleased to announce another new addition to the VCAH Veterinary Team.
Dr. Zachary Whitman received his undergraduate degree in Animal Science from the University of Vermont, and went on to earn his DVM from Colorado State University. Although it was hard to leave beautiful Colorado, he is happy to be back in Rockland County, just a few miles north of his hometown in Bergen County.
His professional interests include behavior management, orthopedics, neurology, and minimally invasive surgery. Dr. Whitman is also passionate about exotic animal medicine, conservation, and wildlife rehabilitation. He completed an externship at the Denver Zoo, and gained wildlife rehab experience at the New England Aquarium and the Rocky Mountain raptor program. At home he keeps and breeds an extensive collection of reptiles.
Dr. Whitman is an avid skier and outdoorsman. When he is not caring for pets at the hospital, or busy taking care of the menagerie at home, you are likely to find him hiking in Harriman State Park with his wife Nicole and their dog, an Australian shepherd named Huck.
