The Valley Cottage Animal Hospital is pleased to announce a new addition to the VCAH Veterinary Team.
Dr. Smatt graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2002. He was born on the island of Jamaica where his first experiences with veterinary medicine began. While working with a Veterinarian and his mentor, Dr. Smatt not only was exposed to both small and large animal medicine but also did conservation work with Manatees along the southern coast marshes.
After graduating Veterinary school, Dr. Smatt worked in a Small Animal and Exotics practice before switching in 2005 to Emergency Medicine. For the past 10 years. Dr. Smatt has practiced Emergency Medicine and has extensive experience with Emergency and Critical Care Medicine, Internal Medicine, Surgery and Diagnostic Imaging.
Dr. Smatt is married and has three kids and a few four-legged loved ones to make his home complete. He loves the outdoors and his interests include hiking, spending time with the family and anything that challenges body and the mind. “My love for this profession gets stronger with each passing year. The relationships with both my patients and clients are the fuel that feeds that love. I’m extremely excited now to be a part of the Valley Cottage Community and to continue practicing in the profession that I love.”
Please join us in welcoming him to our practice.
